JUNEE HIGH SCHOOL SUPPORTS DOLLY’S DREAM

Sixteen Year 12 students from Junee High School have raised more than $7000 for Dolly’s Dream, a foundation that raises awareness to prevent bullying.

After the loss of their 14-year-old daughter, Dolly, to suicide, Kate and Tick Everett founded Dolly’s Dream to start a national conversation about the impacts of bullying, depression and anxiety in young people. The foundation aims to provide support for parents and children that may be suffering with mental health issues. School captain at Junee High School, Brooke Harris said that supporting Dolly’s Dream as their charity of choice was important to the senior students.

BOOROWA TO GALONG RAIL TRAIL PROPOSED

After a tough three years to the rural regions of Australia, The Galong Progress Association has suggested a new rail trail between Galong and Boorowa, to boost tourism in small towns.

The Association meeting held last Thursday highlighted the successes of the current Tumbarumba to Rosewood trail, which spans a distance of 21 kilometres. The trail saw almost 20,000 visitors in the first 12 months and has encouraged the opening of new businesses as well as a boom in tourism in the area.

Mid-June, last year rising Australian indie-pop stars, Lime Cordiale released a best-selling album named 14 Steps to A Better You.


Brothers Oli and Louis Leimbach created the album in a ‘self-help’ style, with the intention of encouraging listeners to live their lives to the fullest.
